My definition of the promotion of Eating Disorders would be people who for different reasons embrace disordered eating habits as a valid way of losing weight (instead of the serious issue they are) and share harmful tips/ideas with the rest through different methods. Through personal experience I’ve realized that these people honestly don’t understand the reality behind eating disorders at all (neither do I believe they have actual eating disorders).

Regarding my personal opinion, this extremely hard for me to answer without going over the edge so I’ll try to remain classy for the sake of my writing skills: I don’t really care about the existence of these people and they don’t affect my life whatsoever, but there is nothing that bothers me more than them. I feel like they are responsible (though not entirely, of course) of the fact that eating disorders are taken so lightly today. I truly think that the reason Anorexia/Bulimia isn’t taken serious is that out there is a flood of people claiming that disordered eating is ‘okay’ and that just makes the ones who have real problems look equally ridiculous. I believe anyone who is pro-ED is extremely ignorant and I just never want to have anything to do with those people. But I think that what bothers me most of all on this topic is that our society is so poorly educated on eating disorders that I bet the mayority of people can’t tell the difference between real EDs and pro-ED, and that just turns eating disorders into a huge joke.

Never had I taken so long answering a question, because I just had so much to say. Sorry for ranting and I tried to keep this as clear and accurate as I could. I’m of course speaking only for myself and I take full responsability if this offends anyone.
